When I decided to uproot everything comfortable in life and begin traveling and blogging, I thought about my adventures in Greece years ago. It’s why I wanted to travel deeper and understand a culture and the people that define it.
Back in 2004, while studying abroad in London, I had the opportunity to take a 10-day “Island Hopping Adventure” around the Greek Isles with a great group of Aussies, Canadians, South Africans and one spicy Greek tour guide.
Long story short, the ruins were amazing, the beaches were gorgeous and I was 20 minutes away from bailing on a flight back to London to begin my first tourist to townie experience in Athens after hitting it off with our guide.
The memories I have from that unforgettable trip to Greece inspire me travel more, they push me to continue exploring more and they’re the reason I tell everyone I’m part Greek (not true).
Next time though, I want to cruise through the Mediterranean on a sail boat, staying at gorgeous Cyprus Hotels after the Greek Islands and tasting all the food and drinks in Cyprus. From there, I’d like to cruise up to Turkey and work my way across the beautiful Turkish coastline. Then, I’ll double back and spend a few months around the Amalfi Coast in Italy. Not a bad plan right?
